Algeria and Tunisia yesterday discussed ways to enhance border cooperation to combat smuggling.
This came during a phone call between Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui and his Tunisian counterpart, Kamal Madouri.
According to a statement by the Algerian government, the call was “an opportunity to highly commend the distinguished relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples.”
The two sides reaffirmed their “shared commitment to intensifying efforts to promote bilateral cooperation in various fields, aiming for strategic integration in line with the joint vision of both leaders.”
They also reviewed “the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation across different sectors, particularly regarding the development of border areas.”
Additionally, they discussed ways to “address common challenges, especially the issue of smuggling, within the framework of the joint committee for developing border cooperation between the two countries.”
