France has condemned Israel’s decision to suspend the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip during the month of Ramadan, Anadolu reported.
French Foreign Ministry spokesperson Christophe Lemoine made this statement during a weekly press briefing held in Paris yesterday.
Lemoine stated that France, the UK, and Germany jointly condemned Israel’s blockade on aid access to Gaza.
He added: “We strongly condemn the Israeli government’s decision to suspend aid and call on Israel to uphold its responsibilities and allow humanitarian assistance into Gaza.”
The French spokesperson highlighted the importance of delivering aid to Gaza due to the catastrophic conditions faced by Palestinians there.
Prior to the most recent halt in aid deliveries, humanitarian aid had been entering Gaza through the Kerem Shalom (Karm Abu Salem) crossing in the south, as well as through a newly established Israeli checkpoint in the northwest, named Zikim, and the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing in the north.
Israel stopped aid deliveries, returning to the policy of starvation it first put in place in October 2023 which led to the death of dozens of Palestinian children.
Netanyahu seeks to force Palestinians to release Israeli captives held in Gaza without making concessions himself, or holding talks on ending Tel Aviv’s genocidal bombing of the enclave or the withdrawal of occupation forces from the Strip.
