Crimes committed by Israeli occupation soldiers and settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank have recorded a 30 per cent surge in the first two months of 2025 compared to 2024, Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported.

The paper cited Israeli security officials as saying that the issue is not being treated with the necessary seriousness by either the Israeli Military Police or other security units.

According to data from the Israeli military’s Central Command; 139 attacks have been recorded since the beginning of the year, compared to approximately 673 recorded attacks in 2024, in which 200 Palestinians were injured, the paper said.

A total of 1,049 attacks were recorded in 2023; a majority of them occurred during the major escalation that erupted in the occupied West Bank from 7 October.
