American nurse Wilhelmi Massay – known as Willy Masai – who volunteered in Gaza’s hospitals during the Israeli aggression, announced that he converted to Islam shortly after his visit to the Palestinian enclave.

Massay said during a podcast that he “studied at a religious institute and wanted to become a Catholic priest”, however, every time he went to Gaza, he saw the Palestinians’ faith, and would ask himself about life and about the God of the people of Palestine.

“Imagine a father or a mother carrying their two children in a plastic bag after Israel bombed the child, and they still say, ‘Thank God!’ This is faith,” he added.

He described this as a faith that “cannot be bombed by Israel.”

Massay was one of five American medical volunteers who entered the Gaza Strip on a medical mission, where he served in Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza and at the Indonesian Hospital in north.
