A group of Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian citizens and their homes in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank today, the Palestinian Information Centre reported.
Media activist Osama Makhmara said that a group of settlers attacked the homes of citizens in the village of Susiya in Masafer Yatta, and assaulted the family of Khader Al-Nawaja’ah.
The settlers’ attacks affected livestock, pastures and citizens’ homes, in addition to shepherds and citizens, in an attempt to displace them from their land in order to make way for the expansion of illegal settlements.
Masafer Yatta represents a community of 12 Palestinian villages, in the city of Yatta in the southern West Bank, whose residents have been suffering from the threat of permanent forced displacement for decades due to the establishment of ten illegal settlements, outposts and Firing Zones 918 for military training in the vicinity of Yatta.
Last month, settlers carried out 230 attacks, concentrated in the governorates of Nablus, Hebron, Ramallah and Jerusalem respectively, and carried out 68 acts of vandalism and theft of Palestinian property.
