Yemen’s Houthi group possesses sophisticated air defences, anti-shipping cruise missiles, drones, sea skimming types of attack drones and other ballistic missiles, White House National Security Adviser Mike Waltz said yesterday.
Speaking on ABC’s ‘This Week’, Waltz stressed that Washington will hold not only the Houthis accountable, but will also hold Iran, their backers, accountable as well.
He added all options are on the table to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, calling on Tehran to stop supporting the Houthis.
“The situation in Yemen was significantly deteriorating when the current administration took office,” he claimed.
The US returned to bombing Yemen this weekend, killing 53 people, many of them civilians, according to local sources.
