The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said yesterday that its mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine have successfully facilitated a new prisoner exchange, releasing 350 detainees from both sides, Al-Khaleej Online reported, citing Emirates News Agency (WAM).

According to WAM, the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two countries through these mediation efforts has reached 3,233.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to both nations for their cooperation, highlighting the trust the UAE enjoys from Russia and Ukraine. It also underscored the appreciation of both countries for the UAE’s commitment to supporting all efforts to resolve the conflict.

The ministry further stated that with this latest exchange, the UAE has conducted 13 mediation efforts since the start of the war.

The UAE reaffirmed its commitment to supporting all initiatives to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine and alleviating its humanitarian impact, particularly concerning refugees and prisoners.

In February, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the success of another mediation effort, which led to the exchange of 300 prisoners between Russia and Ukraine.
