President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a meeting with Denis Bećirović, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at Istanbul’s Vahdettin Pavilion to discuss bilateral and regional cooperation, Anadolu News Agency reports.
The discussions at the historic Vahdettin Pavilion highlighted the enduring cultural, economic and political connections between the two countries. The leaders explored ways to expand trade relations, strengthen defence partnerships and develop joint energy initiatives. They also expressed their shared dedication to keeping peace and stability across the Balkan region.
President Erdoğan backed Bosnia and Herzegovina’s territorial integrity and sovereignty through a declaration that highlighted their shared values and historical connections as brotherly nations.
After their meeting ended both parties expressed interest in expanding economic relations through infrastructure and energy development. The leaders examined possible mutual initiatives for counterterrorism operations and regional security collaboration through NATO structures.
Ankara’s diplomatic efforts to solidify regional partnerships coincide with increased geopolitical attention to the Balkans.
