The Israeli occupation army is carrying out a brutal assault on neighbourhoods in Rafah, southern Gaza, and has trapped more than 50,000 unarmed civilians in the area as part of its “genocidal acts”, which are supported by the United States, Hamas said yesterday.
“The Israeli army is launching a brutal attack on Tel Al-Sultan, the Saudi neighbourhood, and the Barracks area in Rafah, besieging more than 50,000 civilians under intense aerial and artillery bombardment,” the movement said in a statement
“The attacks also include continuous shelling of the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis, in addition to the deliberate targeting of medical and ambulance crews,” it added.

Hamas described these actions as “documented war crimes” and part of a “systematic policy of genocide” aimed at the Palestinian people in Gaza.
The movement stressed that they represent a “blatant violation of international laws and conventions, particularly international humanitarian law.”
Hamas warned that “the fascist occupation army may commit further crimes and massacres against innocent civilians,” noting that reports indicate casualties, including martyrs and wounded, whom rescue teams are unable to reach due to the severe siege and relentless bombardment.
It called on Arab states, the United Nations, and all active forces worldwide to “take immediate and serious action to stop this horrific crime and put an end to the genocide committed by the Zionist occupation against Palestinian people around the clock.”
