The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said today that 124,000 Palestinians have been displaced in Gaza in just a few days.

In a post on its official Facebook page, UNRWA said the displaced have been ” forced to flee relentless bombardment. Families carry what little they have with no shelter, no safety and nowhere left to go.”

The agency also highlighted that “the Israeli authorities have cut off all aid. Food is scarce and prices are soaring. This is a humanitarian catastrophe.”

Stressing the urgency of the situation, UNRWA said: “The siege must end.”

Last week, Israel ended a ceasefire with Hamas, launching a wave of air strikes that killed hundreds of Palestinians across the Gaza Strip.
