The humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating as attacks continue and military operations escalate, a spokesperson for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Gaza told Al Jazeera.

More than 120,000 people have been forced to flee their homes in the past week, the UN official added.

The spokesperson stated that the entry of goods into Gaza has been completely halted for three weeks — marking the longest disruption since October 2023. This has severely worsened the humanitarian crisis in an unprecedented manner.

“We say to the world: enough. You must act immediately to help Gaza,” the OCHA spokesperson urged, stressing the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the reopening of crossings to allow humanitarian aid and essential supplies to reach the devastated population.
