The US administration has expressed concern over the failure of Israeli security agencies to deal with settlers who carried out attacks in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus, Israeli media reported, citing the Israeli public broadcaster Kan.

Officials close to US President Donald Trump are concerned that Israel is not taking enough action to halt Israeli settlers’ violence against Palestinian families, according to Kan.

White House officials reportedly addressed the events in Qusra on Wednesday. A senior White House official intends to contact the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to request clarifications regarding the reasons preventing security agencies from dealing with the attackers, according to Israeli sources.

Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir issued directives to reinforce forces in the Qusra area with a battalion of infantry reservists. The military stated that the goal of this step is to “strengthen operational control” in the area and with extra forces remaining on standby to intervene when necessary.
