The Global Alliance for Palestine (GAFP) has today announced the launch of a major global campaign for the weekend of 9–11 October 2026, centered on a Global Day of Action on Saturday, 10th October. Inviting hundreds of organisations worldwide to participate, the initiative aims to coordinate actions across several international cities.
The October 10th global mobilisation aims to play a vital role in placing Israel’s ongoing genocide and war crimes back on the media agenda. By synchronising diverse protest activities across continents – connecting grassroots movements, student protests, workplace actions, rallies, and civil disobedience from Asia to the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East – the Alliance provides a platform to turn public outrage into collective leverage.
GAFP is offering campaign materials, coordination, and strategic support, enabling local civil society groups, trade unions, and student networks to shape actions that reflect their own political and community dynamics. As Secretary-General Dr Anas Altikriti noted, “In the face of ongoing genocide and political silence, standing by is no longer an option – coordinated global action is an absolute necessity to demand an immediate arms embargo and enforce real sanctions.”
This mobilisation arrives at a critical juncture marked by political silence against the backdrop of three years of Israel’s genocide in Gaza. While public solidarity for Palestinian rights has reached historic levels globally since 2023, diplomatic inaction and the illusion of a ceasefire have allowed the catastrophic reality on the ground to persist unchecked.
Official figures record at least 73,000 Palestinians killed, over 18,000 children killed, and around 70 percent of all structures and buildings in Gaza damaged or destroyed. Academic journals and expert assessments stress that these official counts represent a conservative baseline, with the true death toll estimated to be significantly higher. Crucially, these atrocities extend beyond Gaza; across occupied Palestine, accelerating state-backed settler violence, land seizures, and community displacements in the West Bank demonstrate a single, unified campaign of destruction that international silence continues to create the conditions for.
A statement by GAFP said that ultimately its campaign seeks to disrupt political silence, challenge institutional complicity, and build direct international pressure for tangible accountability mechanisms against Israel, including an immediate arms embargo and boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS).
Groups wishing to participate can register, download the campaign pack, and reach out to the GAFP Public Relations Officer.
