Bahar al-Din Adam Karama, the Governor of Sudan’s West Darfur State, announced that the army has seized control of the Bir Klikil area in the Jebel Moon locality following clashes with the Rapid Support Forces.
Karama said in a statement that the recapture of Bir Klikil, in the eastern part of Jabal Moon locality, represents an important victory for the Sudanese state, according to the Sudan News Agency (SUNA).
He said the move has strategic significance for extending state authority and restoring security in West Darfur, given the area’s geographical position and importance around Jabal Moon.
Karama added that military operations in West Darfur are proceeding steadily according to plan as part of national efforts to restore security and preserve Sudan’s unity and sovereignty.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese army carried out air strikes targeting RSF positions in the villages of Umm Sumayma and Abu Harraz in North Kordofan state.
