On several occasions since Israel launched its ground invasion into Gaza, dozens of Palestinians have been pictured stripped to their underwear, bound and lined up on their knees or paraded through the streets by Israeli troops.
An analysis by BBC Verify, which examined hundreds of videos, identified at least eight videos showcasing the ill-treatment of Palestinian detainees by Israeli soldiers.
According to Article 13 of the Third Geneva Convention, prisoners of war must be protected against “insults and public curiosity”, making the filming and dissemination of such videos a “war crime”.
